I am Marina Lapa, and for over 20 years I have been creating handmade carnival masks.

I graduated from the theater department of the National University of Cinema and Television Theater. I.K. Karpenko-Kary in Kyiv. Currently, I am studying restoration art at the University of the Arts in Venice to expand my skills.

I created the MLapa brand because for me it’s not just about creating masks, but a kind of mission. MLapa has become my lifelong creative project, embodying my passion for creating something beautiful and unique. This brand is my way of sharing my talent and vision with the world by creating not just accessories, but works of art that carry deep symbolism and emotional power. The MLapa brand allows me to express myself, my personality and philosophy through unique products that bring joy and inspiration to others.

My philosophy in creating masks is permeated with the desire for beauty and a deep understanding of the human soul. In every curve, in every detail, I embody my belief in the magic of art, which can transform the ordinary into something magnificent.

The purpose of my masks is not just to create decorative objects, but to create symbols that have their own energy and meaning. I strive to reveal a person’s inner world through a mask, allowing everyone to find in it a reflection of their feelings, thoughts and desires.

My masks are not just accessories, they are a bridge between reality and the mystical world of fantasy. I believe that each mask has the power to awaken our hidden passions, dreams and desires, helping us to discover new dimensions of our personality and express our uniqueness.

I make the basis of all my masks by hand separately for each product, in this almost magical act, I create the shape of the future product which I process by hand centimeter by centimeter, decorate with gold, silver, lace, antique fabrics and sewing, feathers of exotic birds, natural fur, decorate natural metals - silver, gold, SWAROVSKY crystals and painting.

Each mask has its own deepest symbolism and history. My main task when creating a unique thing is to make it perfect. My masks are not just accessories - they symbolize the inner world of each person, allowing them to express their uniqueness.
